Summer days

Drifting away, but oh oh those summer nights! 

So many things happened in these past 2 months! One exceptionally flashy night was set aside for Independence Day. 

Very patriotic! 

Birthdays were celebrated

Sugar free goodies were discovered 

Chocolate chip cookies were perfected

And 150 cupcakes were lovingly squished onto a tiny table

Surrounding two tiers of brushed embroidery

Celebrating the union of two precious souls. 

And as the gingerly cut into the dark chocolate espresso cake the looked starry eyed at each other

And without hesitation generously fed each other handfuls! 

Here is to changes- be it a birthday or marriage or the coming season! 

Tee off time for a bright future!

It is that time of year to congratulate our graduates! 

Oh the special interests of these grads

Then you have the bow tie wearing gents

And those who love golf

I mean really love golf

I mean "put it all together" love golf!

This day

Tomorrow is a day filled of joy and handmade cards for many women. 

This was my edible scrabble card for my wonderful mom. 

It was authentic - down to the last letter value.

Some mothers get flowers

Some get beautiful cards with great sentiment.

I would have to say mine is:

But I'm here to tell you for many -this will be a day of hidden unspoken heavy hearts

A day where some are missing their moms, others are stilling waiting to be called mom, and still others were only called mom for a little while though they will forever be mom in their hearts. 

To these women I say I feel for you... I am one of you. You are not alone in your struggles. 

To others I ask you to just know that on this day we do struggle though we don't want to over shadow.

On this day, I lift my voice in joy for all those whose prayers were answered and I gladly say to you

Nurse week

This week is nurse appreciation week! In honor if such an occasion- scrub cookies!

These were for a group of nurses who looked after a little one while he got his tonsils out.

Birthday cake

Today was my birthday! It just happened to fall on chocolate Friday. I asked the Mr. If I had to make my own cake -he said name a cake and he would make it. SO I picked "Better Than Anything" cake. (I have high expectations. 

I was not disappointed. It was delicious!!! So share in my celebration (but the cake is all mine!) Happy Chocolate Friday

Confession

As one who loves baking and let's face it all food in general. I would love to say I make everything from scratch; That whatever I'm craving I just whip it up. Alas it comes down to this: Sometimes I want a quick fix especially late at night. I am a frozen treat addict and I got to say a hot fudge Sunday is cheap, hits the spot, and never disappoints!

Spring time

It's the season of pollen and color. This year is having extremes of both. There seem to be lots of parties and birthdays (mine included *cough*). So I have been able to make all sorts if bright custom colors.
