Chocolate Friday on a Tuesday
Many years ago I was employed at a place that will never be dubbed "The happiest place on earth." I believe I was good at my job and those I worked with were all good at what they did as well. We weren't relatively looking forward to going into work each day, but we all came and we all plugged away. I liked who I worked with and knew something had to change- something had to lift our spirits. We got our checks on Thursdays so to motivate us into coming in and being happier on Fridays I started "Chocolate Fridays", Every week on Friday I would bring something in to share. Over time it evolved; It wasn't always chocolate and it wasn't always me who brought something. Our morale was boosted on those Fridays. For a good stint it turned into taco Fridays when we became almost obsessed with a little taco truck down the street. Our boss even made sausage biscuit runs for us every once in a while. The point is this: If change is needed, be the one to start down that path- and it never hurts to have some chocolate to smooth the way. Seriously though- food speaks to everyone and even the thought of chocolate can cheer a person up. That is why I have decided to post on here and share it on facebook a picture of something chocolate every Friday so that if you need a mental pick me up or know someone who could use a lift- just share the picture, close your eyes, and imagine smelling the baked goodness wafting through your memories! If you need something more tangible I am happy to help there too. Does your office need a chocolate Friday? Think of what America would be like if everyone had goodies to share on Fridays! So be looking out this Friday for the first ever Blessed lil Bakery Chocolate Friday!
